Best Bang for the Buck
(2-3 years ownership/2 color versions of this watch) You can spend much more money for much less timekeeping accuracy than this watch provides. Timekeeping: I lose about 15-20 sec to the NIST time clock each six month time change interval when I reset the time. Not bad at all. Setting: You can stop the second hand sweep at 12 high by simply pulling the crown to the set position which greatly aids locking in on the universal time clock to the second. It restarts when the crown is snapped back down. Looks and Durability: The polished case and flat crystal look almost new after two years of frequent wear. Size and Legibility: About perfect for a field watch - bigger than a dress face and smaller than a divers chrono. Fairly low profile and snug to the wrist. Can read with or without my glasses. I don't often use the backlight, but it lights very well. Price: Really reasonable with one caveat - you'll probably tire of the flimsy but stylish nylon web band after a short time and spend about $25 more for a nice leather band. The total investment is still a good value over many other watches. Overall, this watch goes anywhere with anything and keeps very accurate time. You'll probably ignore your other watches because you'll use it everyday, not just on weekends. It's A TIMEX!

Perfect for my needs!
I needed a watch for everyday use in the country, where I might do anything from housework to running errands in town to barn work or dog training in 100 degree heat. It needs to be highly visible night or day without having to put on my glasses, keep good time, be low profile enough not to catch on things or get scratched up, and it's great if it looks good too. This watch does all that very well. The soft wide nylon band is more comfortable than my metal bands or leather ones, especially if I'm doing hot sweaty work.
I got the greenish nylon band, and is is not nearly as green as the photo shows. It is definitely olive drab, an army greenish tan. Goes with everything. Looks very tactical, if you're into that.
To sum up, I'm ordering a second one, and my husband wants one too!

Great watch
I have several of these watches and have used them for years. I like the medium size, good for smaler wrists. They are much better than my inherited Rolex. Taken one down to 200 feet while scuba diving, no problem. And if you do lose one underwater, its only $30 to replace it. This new one has the grey dial. Pretty but harder to read than the white dial models.

I like it better than my Seiko
Perhaps it's not right to compare a Timex against a Seiko. Any snob will tell you a Seiko 5 series is a superior watch. Meanwhile the average Joe such as myself can only rely on real life experience. I've owned several Timex watches over the course of my life. They all still work. The accuracy on all my Timex watches is mind boggling accurate. I thought I'd take a chance on the snob tier of watches and get myself a highly revered Seiko 5 series. Nice watch that looses minutes after a couple days. The hands fell off the face of the watch. Had the Seiko repaired and the hands fell off again. I bought this Timex as my weekend warrior watch and it's the only one I wear. I look at my useless Seiko watch. Pretty to look at. I can't trust it to keep time. I find myself always grabbing my Timex when I need something reliable and dependable. I can't say it enough. Timex is the most sound investment in any watch. Bang for the buck you can't beat it. Even after years of use.

A WInner!
5 stars! Buying a new Weekender to replace the old. With the dark face, people compliment the watch, thinking it is an expensive timepiece. Has kept perfect time for 8 years. Easy to read and the Indiglo feature (lights up at night) is a plus. Will transfer the old metal bracelet to the new. Obviously, would buy again -- quite happy with the TIMEX product.
