EXCELLENT inexpensive watch.
This is one great watch. Because of its low price, I thought it might be cheap or silly looking, but I figured at this price, I'd try it. It's neither. I own a couple of dozen watches, including some close to high-end watches. This is now one of my favorite watches.
It's comfortable to wear due to its light weight and velcro strap. With other watchbands you have only limited adjustments. I always find one hole too tight and the next one too loose. With this watch band, it's infinitely adjustable so it fits perfectly.
And, unlike a lot of my watches, it's not only not heavy, it's positively lightweight. I barely even know its there. Compare that with some enormous watches that feel like tuna fish cans strapped to my wrist. I often wear watches that are 40mm wide or more, but this is one step smaller than that, and I'd forgotten how much more pleasant it is to wear a medium-sized watch.
The dial is completely legible even at a moderate angle (not an extreme angle, though, since it's digital). It shows the time, the day of the week, and the date. Plus the seconds. Adjustment requires using the little booklet that came with it, but I think I almost have it memorized by now. It's similar to a Casio but a little more streamlined and just a little less "tech-y" looking. It looks rugged and purposeful, not silly at all. Some of my Casios make me look like a computer science major, and I definitely don't want that.
It also has a light if you need it -- and maybe some other things I haven't discovered yet.
And the price! Holy smokes! Where can you get a great watch that works well and is this lightweight and comfortable for this low a price? Not often. If you need a good, solid, reliable, comfortable, and good-looking watch, here it is.

I didn’t want to wear my Apple Watch while hiking in a rugged area. So, I purchased this watch. It fits my lifestyle perfectly. It keeps good time and gives you the date. It is very easy to read. It also does many other things which I have no interest in learning.
Great for basic
I bought this for my son, because I already had one, and he liked it and wanted one. Now my dad wants one, so I plan to order another for him. My dad likes that the numbers are large enough for him to read, including the date. For a cheap watch, we collectively like the comfort of the velcro strap, how well the velcro holds, the font size of the numbers and the volume of the alarm. It also has held up to construction work, mechanical work, and being put through the washing machine. This is a tough watch.
Great watch that's simple to use
Great watch for the price. I've been using it every day now and I have no complaints. Happy to have a watch that's just a watch. Good, understandable directions come with it. Durable despite some getting whacked and submerged occasionally.
has modest look and act like watch
the watch comes in many different colors it vary good looking in your favorite color has lap time 2 time zones and military time shock for cheap watch like this that awesome has only 1 alarm but that ok if i needed more id get different one it has 2 glow button which wired all in all 5 stars just wish i could get with bigger watch band i have beefy wrist make the watch almost to small for my wrist but that can be remadey later

My key reasons for purchasing the Armitron MD0699 watch are sports related.

When I am riding my motorcycle in particular, I need to be able to glance quickly and see what time it is. That means I need a watch that is easy to read from the side, since my arms are holding the handle bar.
I have a cell phone, but it's zipped up in my protective riding jacket giving me GPS and Music. Its a lot of effort to pull to the side of the road, remove it from the jacket pocket, take off my riding gloves, unlock the phone, just to know what time it is. This watch keeps things simple.
I also don't want to expose my cellphone to the rain. This watch had 300 Feet of water resistance. A rainy day is going to make me late.
Really important for X-Game sports like Motorcycles, Cycling, Skateboarding is the heavy duty strong watch with Velcro strap. If my wrist gets hot, or wet, I can easily loosen the band. If I need to secure it tighter for those times I might be exploring a cave, I can tighten it up and know it's not going anywhere.
I love the modern technology of a cell phone, but when I want to get rough and dirty, I want something durable, easy to use, survives the elements and I don't have to worry about breaking.
